I am a wife and mother of two sons. Our eldest son, Justin, was killed in a car accident September 27, 2010. He was 25 years old. This blog is my journey through the deepest grief a parent can experience, the unthinkable words a parent never wants to ever hear...“I am sorry to tell you, but your son Justin is dead.”

Doug and I have been married for more than 30 years, and the blog tells our story too, the struggles, tears and sometimes laughter of learning to live again.

So good to hear again….

I just finished listening to the audio file of Fr. Conrad’s homily from Justin’s funeral Mass. A wonderful, comforting visit with the good Franciscan friar, such a great blessing to hear his words again. The day is still hard, but we found ourselves laughing and smiling as we listened to Fr. Conrad.  I need to transcribe it so I can read it often, there are so many beautiful truths that bring comfort to my heart.

Peace to all on this Feast Day of the Guardian Angels.

Update: I have transcribed Fr. Conrad’s homily, the text can be found at the link below:
