Reflections on Listen to Your Mother and the Glorious Gift of Photos!

I followed the link to the photographs of the LTYM Baltimore 2016 show and was transported back to that magical day. Jen Snyder, a Listen To Your Mother alum from 2014, and a superb photographer, created a treasure of memories that mean the world to me. You can see more of Jen’s work at www.jensnyderphoto.com.

I continue to unpack my experience of Listen To Your Mother. From the night of the first rehearsal, I was transfixed by the power and grace of women telling their stories. I could have sat all night letting their words flow through me, I felt so at home with this circle of women. Stories have the power to heal, stories have the power to tear down barriers and build bridges, stories make strangers family. Communities grow stronger when our stories are shared, bonds are formed that last a life time. Sorrow and pain shared becomes bearable, and laughter shared with sisters is sweet and refreshing to the soul.

I am delighted to share this tremendous gift of photos of the day, I hope you enjoy.

The videos of each story told will be on YouTube sometime through the summer, I will let you know when they are available. To each of my new sisters, please know that you and your stories will always live in my heart. Thank you for the gift of your stories and love.
