And My Life Changed. Listen To Your Mother, Baltimore 2016

Vowing not to check my email one more time, I quickly checked my email one more time. There it was:

2016 LTYM Baltimore Show Casting Decision

Hesitating for a few seconds while my heart flipped and flopped, I breathed and opened the email.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  You have been selected to perform in the 2016 Listen To Your Mother Baltimore show.

And my life changed.

My heart has been insistent with her desire to find the storytellers, the wise ones whose lives radiate the feminine genius for love and courage. And I found them. Fearless, yet gentle and kind. Their lives and stories creating real life stained glass windows full of color and hope.

I am frequently asked, “What is “Listen to Your Mother” all about?” Below is a link to the 2106 Season Announcement video. I cry every time I watch it. I could write a thousand words and not express to you what this video does in three minutes.

The pictures below were taken by Jen Snyder, a wonderful and generous photographer, and a LTYM 2014 alum! You can check out more of her work here: http://www.jensnyderphoto.com.

Taya and Arlene folded me and my story in their arms the first moment I met them. Beauty, strength, love, wisdom, flow from these two women. I hope you get a chance to meet them on show day, they bring hope.

Finding my physical voice again. It went away for a long time. But in this group of loving and nurturing women, it came back. Strong and clear.

I’m so happy you are in the cast, the show is such an incredible assembly of strong women (and a few men!) and it’s also a sisterhood, a community that will continue to hold you long after the show. I wish you luck and love and know you will be wonderful.

Thank you Dana! I am trying to slow these days down, to be mindful of them and to enjoy each minute.

Thank you Andrea! It feels strange to be trying on dress after dress and trying to figure out what size I am, what style I wear – so many changes these past few years. I no longer feel like I am betraying my grief by looking at pretty clothes again, but it still feels odd. Peace to you my friend.
